A Brighter Future for Navrongo’s Students
In northern Ghana, in the small town of Navrongo, hundreds of determined students arrive each day with the same goal: to learn, grow, and create a better future for themselves and their communities. But the school meant to support them is struggling to meet even the most basic needs.
With the support of generous donors and Brand Partners, the Advancing Life Foundation is once again being called to help transform lives—creating a safe and supportive environment where students can truly thrive.
A School Struggling to Serve Its Students
Today, nearly 200 students share a facility with only two classrooms and a small cubicle. Many students must stand outside during lessons because the rooms are too crowded.
Living conditions are equally difficult. Dormitories are small, with leaking roofs, no doors, and no windows. Without electricity or proper protection, wild animals and snakes can enter at night. Inside, there is very little furniture.
Daily routines are also a challenge. The dining area consists of bowls placed on the ground, and there is no kitchen. Meals are prepared outdoors under a mango tree. The students do not have a lavatory on campus, often leaving school grounds and walking to nearby fields, using rocks and buckets for basic sanitation.
Building Hope Through Education
Despite these challenges, the students of Navrongo remain deeply committed to their education. They understand that learning is the pathway to supporting their families, strengthening their communities, and building brighter futures.
The Advancing Life Foundation hopes to completely refurbish this school—expanding classrooms, improving dormitories, creating proper kitchen and dining facilities, and establishing safe sanitation for students.
Inspired by Generosity
At the recent ANZ Regional Conference, Brand Partners exceeded the donation goal of $4,000 for a total of $5,466, enough to furnish an entire classroom. That means no more sitting on the floor or watching the lesson through the window from outside.
Together, we have already helped create meaningful change in communities like those in Ecuador with the Inta-Kara Advancing Life Center.
