Restoring Sacred Ground: ASEA Employees Serve at Pleasant Grove Cemetery

At ASEA, service is more than a value—it’s a practice. Through the ASEA Advancing Life Foundation, we’re proud to support global humanitarian work, but our purpose doesn’t end with international outreach. It also lives in the places we call home.

Last week, that spirit of local impact came to life in the quiet stillness of a cemetery.

A Day of Tools, Teamwork, and Tenderness

On a bright May afternoon, dozens of ASEA employees joined together in Pleasant Grove, Utah, to participate in a cemetery cleanup effort in partnership with the city.

Armed with gloves, rakes, trash bags, and shears, our team spent the day trimming overgrown bushes, pulling weeds, picking up debris, and restoring the peaceful beauty of this sacred space.

Cemeteries are where stories rest, where families come to grieve, to remember, and to find peace. As one volunteer put it, “This isn’t just cleanup. This is care. This is respect.”

Every pile of leaves removed, every overgrown bush trimmed back, was an act of reverence. The air was filled with conversation, laughter, and even moments of quiet reflection as we worked side by side.

Why It Matters

Service like this reminds us that impact doesn’t always come with fanfare. Sometimes, it comes in the form of showing up early, rolling up your sleeves, and leaving a space better than you found it. For our team, it was a chance to connect not just with each other, but with the community—quietly, humbly, and with heart.

Part of a Bigger Picture

This local project follows closely on the heels of other employee-led service initiatives, including a winter clothing and blanket drive for refugee families in Utah and upcoming plans for a school backpack drive in July, where we’ll collect supplies for children in need as they head into a new school year.

Each project is a thread in the same fabric of service—woven together by our people, who continue to show up with compassion, consistency, and care.

A Legacy of Service

To every ASEA employee who volunteered their time, energy, and heart: thank you. You honored this resting place and the people it holds, and you reminded all of us what it means to lead with purpose.

Service doesn’t have to be loud to be powerful. And on this quiet day in Pleasant Grove, ASEA employees showed exactly what it means to lead with compassion.
