Donations from ASEA European Conference Provide Permanent Drinking Water to Cambodian Villages

A United Associate Force at the 2020 European Conference

While gathered in Lyon for ASEA 2020 European Conference & Envision earlier this year, ASEA Europe associates united as a force for good: Attendees supported one another in the pursuit of their individual goals while also combining efforts to bring critical resources to villages in Cambodia.

“ASEA associates in Europe are very committed to being successful entrepreneurs,” starts ASEA Vice President of Europe Jörg Höche. “They work hard on their thriving businesses, but they never forget to care for the less fortunate.”

Answering the Call of Advancing Life

After announcing its partnership with Vision Cambodia just six months earlier, the ASEA Advancing Life Foundation set out to raise funds for providing clean water wells in regions where hazardous water conditions cause chronic health and hygiene problems.

Associates at the conference responded by donating enough money to build 27 new wells in several villages, with many associates personally covering the full cost of a well. These donated wells will support more than 1,000 people, with just one well able to provide water for an entire village!

Clean Water at a Critical Time

Today, the new wells have all been constructed and are providing a permanent source of clean drinking water to hundreds of people in rural villages outside of Siem Reap, Cambodia.

“I could not be more proud of this contribution and applaud our ASEA Europe associates for making a difference in the lives of people in Cambodia,” says Höche. “Especially in light of the current pandemic, the increase in hygiene that comes with these wells means a lot for the lives of vulnerable people.”
