The Advancing Life Foundation (ALF), in partnership with The Exodus Road, is helping survivors of human trafficking rebuild their lives through counseling, education, vocational training, and economic opportunities. Through The Exodus Road’s Freedom Home program, survivors are gaining the skills, confidence, and resources needed to pursue brighter, more independent futures in Thailand.
Supporting Survivors on Their Journey to Recovery
Throughout 2026, ALF’s support has helped provide essential services to 121 survivors of human trafficking.
These services include 88 medical visits and 336 counseling and case management sessions, helping survivors address their physical and emotional needs.
Additionally, 77 survivors have enrolled in career education, vocational training, language learning, or internships, while 50 have received ongoing career and educational coaching.

Creating Opportunities Through Education
Financial independence is an important step toward long-term recovery.
Through entrepreneurship and financial management training, survivors learn essential business skills, including budgeting, marketing, product development, and business planning.
So far in 2026, 34 survivors have participated in this training, and seven business plans have been completed.
These opportunities are helping survivors develop the confidence and practical knowledge needed to pursue meaningful employment and business ownership.
Achara’s Story: A Sweet Start to a New Future
One inspiring example is Achara*, a 17-year-old survivor who found support and stability through Freedom Home.
After experiencing trafficking and exploitation, Achara received counseling, mentorship, and vocational training to help her recover and plan for her future.
During her training, she discovered a passion for baking and developed the skills to launch her own cookie business, Bunny Cookies.

With support from The Exodus Road, Achara received the program’s first zero-interest startup loan, allowing her to begin building her business. She continues receiving mentorship and has successfully made her loan payments on time.
Her journey demonstrates how compassionate care and economic opportunity can help survivors reclaim control of their futures.

Building Pathways to Independence
In 2026, ALF’s support has helped 36 survivors access jobs, internships, or assistance establishing businesses. Of those working toward economic independence, 17 have achieved regular, sufficient income through employment or business ownership.
The Exodus Road is also developing trauma-informed employment training to help businesses create safer, more supportive workplaces for survivors.
Through these efforts, survivors are gaining opportunities to establish financial stability and build lives defined by their own goals and choices.

Thanks to the generosity of ALF donors, survivors in Thailand are finding renewed hope, meaningful opportunities, and pathways toward lasting independence.
Achara is a representative name used to protect the survivor’s identity.
